Jelly Egg Yolk

The mooncakes festival is coming soon. I will introduce difference types of mooncakes here which include baked mooncakes, pingpi (snow skin)mooncake and jelly mooncakes. Lets start with this jelly mooncakes. The typical baked mooncakes has contained salted egg yolk. So this jelly mooncakes will has it own egg yolk as well.

The following recipe can made up to 35 unit of Jelly Egg Yolk.

Ingredients:
(A)
1/2 Tablespoon Agar-agar Powder
350ml Water
50g Fine Granulated Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Instant Jelly Powder
4 Blade Pandan Leaf (knotted)
(B)
2 Tablespoon Evaporated Milk
1/8 Teaspoon Orange Colouring

Utensils:
1 Small Ice-cube Moulds


Method:
The ingredients (A) is placed into a pot. It is keep on stirring until it boils. Hence discard the heat and remove the pandan leaf.Jelly Egg Yolk (11).jpgPhotobucketJelly Egg Yolk (14).jpg

Next, pour the mixture into the small ice-cube mould until it full, so that the egg yolk is formed completely. Let them cool before placing into refrigerator.

Hence keep them into refrigerator to set about 20 minutes. Then the egg yolks are unmould by using the tooth pick.

Tips

The mixture must be poured into the small ice-cube mould slowly and carefully, so the mixture can flow along all the mould.

The egg yolk could be created into other than the sphere, e.g. the love shape as shown on above photo.
